Completed in December 2016, Empire Engineering was responsible for the civil and structural design and documentation of this $45 million commercial and retail development. “Kon-Tiki” consists of two 6 storey concrete buildings with a two storey underground basement. As the project is adjacent to Cornmeal Creek, diaphragm walls were utilised as the basement walls to provide both a water tight structure and structural load bearing capabilities.
